HOW TO STYLE YOUR SWIMSUIT FOR DAILY WEAR

5 Easy WAYS to give your swimwear more USAGE

Every summer, you spend a ton of time - and money - on scoring the perfect one-piece or bikini, only to be wearing it a few times during the summer months and letting it collect dust the rest of the year. This gives swimsuits - just like snow boots and other hyper-seasonal items - a relatively high cost per wear.

One solution is obviously to get creative, and incorporate and incorporate them into your daily outfits. Essentially, any swimsuit can double as a bodysuit and given its quick-drying fabric, it’s also a great option for any sweat-inducing outdoor activities. More and more brands are offering styles that can be worn as swim or ready-to-wear, paired with items already in your closet. Isa Boulder or Cult Gaia for example are designing one-pieces that look like they should be a part of your daily outfit rotation thanks to details like ruching or strategically placed cut-outs.

For those looking to take their swimwear from the pool to the street, ahead are five ways to put your swimsuit on heavy rotation this summer.

  1. Wear your one-piece as a bodysuit: Paired with your favorite pair of jeans or denim shorts, the look is just as appropriate for a rooftop party as it is for the pool. You could also try a silky midi skirt and layer some jewelry.

  2. Let your bikini double as a cropped top: I like to wear a strappy bralette bikini or bandeau top with my favorite pair of straight-leg jeans. Just add a blazer for a polished summer look.

  3. Cover it up: If you feel like you need a little more coverage, style your swimsuit or a bikini top with a simple button-down shirt. I like a white linen shirt, but striped or even denim works well. Wear it open, buttoned, or tie it up at the waist.

  4. Add something sheer: Nothing is less complicated than wearing a flowy dress over your bikini or one-piece. Opt for a sheer fabric or even crochet to let your bathing suit shine through.

  5. Let your scarves double as cover-ups: Simply tie them around a strapless bikini top and pair them with shorts or a skirt. You can also use them as a sarong for a thigh-baring cover-up.
